What is Minimuse?

Minimuse is an Indian brand making natural, organic colour cosmetics for children and teens. Founded by cosmetic scientist and mother Sonam Agarwal, every product is formulated with young, developing skin as the priority — organic oils, naturally-derived pigments, dermatologist tested and cruelty-free.

What exactly is a "Lip Dessert"?

It’s our name for our signature lip oil — a treat for the lips that nourishes, glosses and delights. It smells like fruit, looks like a gloss, and works like skincare.

Is Minimuse dermatologically tested?

Yes. Both Minimuse Lip Desserts have been independently tested for skin irritation by CCFT Laboratories (Centre for Cruelty-Free Testing) in Meerut, India, and certified non-irritant.

The test used is the 24-hour Primary Irritation Patch Test, carried out to Indian Standard IS 4011:2018 — the recognised Indian method for assessing whether a cosmetic irritates human skin.

Berry Pop holds Certificate of Conformity CCFT2026061826A and Peach Sorbet holds CCFT2026061826B, both dated 20 June 2026. Either certificate can be verified directly with the laboratory using its certificate number.

What does the IS 4011:2018 patch test actually prove?

IS 4011:2018 is the Indian Standard method for testing whether a cosmetic irritates human skin. In a Primary Irritation Patch Test the product is held against the skin under a patch for 24 hours, and the site is then examined for redness, swelling or other signs of irritation.

A result of non-irritant means no such reaction was recorded. For a product made for young, delicate lips this is the most directly relevant safety test there is — it measures what actually happens when the product sits on skin, rather than relying on ingredient claims alone.

One honest caveat: a non-irritant result is not a guarantee against every individual allergy. If your child has known sensitivities, apply a small amount to the inner arm first and wait a day before using it on the lips.

Can I see the safety certificate?

Every detail from the Certificate of Conformity is published on each product page — the testing laboratory, the standard, the test method, the result, the certificate number and the date of certification.

We publish the certificate numbers rather than the certificate file itself, because the document also names our manufacturing partner. The numbers are what matter for verification: CCFT Laboratories can confirm either certificate directly.

If you would like a copy for your own records, write to us at info@theminimuse.in and we will be glad to help.

What age can my daughter start using lip oil?

Minimuse is formulated for girls aged 3 and above. For younger children (3–8), we recommend gentle parental supervision during application.

Is it safe if accidentally ingested?

Minimuse uses food-grade plant oils and natural pigments. While it’s not designed to be eaten, incidental ingestion during normal use is not a safety concern.

Can boys use lip oil too?

Absolutely. Lip oil is skincare, and lips don’t have a gender. Boys with dry or chapped lips benefit equally from gentle plant-oil hydration.

How is a lip oil different from lip gloss?

Gloss sits on the surface for shine; our oil-first Lip Dessert absorbs in to nourish from within — the glow of a gloss with the care of a treatment, minus the petroleum derivatives and synthetic dyes.

How do I apply and remove it?

Glide a thin layer across clean lips with the doe-foot applicator and reapply through the day for glow and hydration. It removes easily with warm water and a soft cloth — no makeup remover needed.

What's actually in it?

A nourishing base of Castor Seed Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Olive Fruit Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Refined Coconut Oil and Refined Shea Butter with Vitamin E, plus a naturally inspired tint from pomegranate and beetroot. Free from parabens, sulphates, drying alcohols and unnecessary artificial fragrances.

Is it really natural and organic?

Yes — we use naturally-derived, organic ingredients chosen for gentleness on thin, absorbent young skin. We believe in the meaningful difference between "natural" and "organic," and formulate mindfully from the very beginning.

How fast do you ship, and what about returns?

Orders are dispatched within 24 hours and shipped across India with live tracking by SMS and email. Free shipping on orders over ₹999, and easy 7-day returns on unopened items.

Is Minimuse Lip Dessert safe for kids?

Adult supervision is recommended for younger children.

Why do children get dry lips?

Children’s lips lose moisture more easily than adult lips because their skin barrier is thinner and more delicate. Weather changes, dehydration, frequent lip licking, sun exposure and air conditioning can all contribute to dry lips. A nourishing lip care routine helps replenish moisture and protect delicate lips from everyday dryness.

Why are my child’s lips always chapped?

Repeated lip licking, dehydration, changing weather and environmental exposure are common causes of chapped lips in children. Keeping lips hydrated with a gentle lip care product made with natural and organic ingredients can help support the skin’s natural moisture barrier and improve everyday comfort. If symptoms persist, consult your healthcare professional.

What causes cracked lips in children?

Cracked lips develop when delicate lips lose moisture faster than they can replace it. Cold weather, wind, dehydration, lip licking and prolonged sun exposure are common causes. Regular hydration and gentle lip care help maintain soft, healthy lips and reduce the risk of dryness and cracking.

Can children use lip oil every day?

Yes. Children aged 3 years and above can generally use a gentle lip oil every day when it is formulated specifically for kids. Daily hydration helps keep lips soft, comfortable and protected, particularly during colder months, outdoor play or dry weather. Choose products made with thoughtfully selected natural and organic ingredients.

Is lip oil better than lip balm for children?

Lip oil and lip balm both help care for children’s lips, but they work differently. Lip oil provides lightweight hydration and nourishment, while lip balm creates a protective barrier that helps reduce moisture loss. The best choice depends on your child’s needs, climate and daily routine.

How can I keep my child’s lips moisturised?

Encourage your child to drink plenty of water, avoid frequent lip licking and use a gentle lip care product whenever lips feel dry. Products made with natural and organic ingredients help nourish delicate lips while supporting their natural moisture barrier throughout the day.

What is the best lip care routine for children?

The best lip care routine is simple and consistent. Keep children hydrated, protect their lips from harsh weather and apply a nourishing lip oil whenever lips become dry. A child-friendly formula designed for children aged 3 years and above helps maintain soft, healthy lips while encouraging positive self-care habits.

How can parents encourage healthy self-care habits?

Children learn best by watching the adults around them. Inviting them to join simple daily routines, celebrating small achievements and making self-care feel playful rather than pressured helps build habits they can enjoy for years to come. Consistency, encouragement and quality time matter more than perfection.

Can self-care help build confidence?

Yes. When children learn to care for themselves through simple everyday routines, they begin to develop confidence in their own abilities. Self-care teaches independence, responsibility and self-respect, helping children feel proud of what they can do while knowing they are supported along the way.

Why are little daily routines important for children?

Daily routines help children feel secure because they know what to expect. They also create opportunities to practise responsibility, independence and healthy habits. Over time, these small moments become meaningful rituals that support emotional wellbeing and confidence.

How can everyday rituals help children grow?

Simple rituals create moments of connection, learning and independence. Whether it's getting ready for school together or winding down before bed, everyday routines help children develop healthy habits while creating memories that strengthen family bonds.

How do simple routines help children feel secure?

Predictable routines help children understand their day and create a sense of stability. Knowing what comes next can make everyday experiences feel calmer and more manageable while encouraging independence through familiar, age-appropriate activities.

Imaginative play encourages creativity, communication and problem-solving while allowing children to explore the world around them. It helps build confidence as children express ideas, experiment with roles and develop their own unique personalities through play.

Why do children enjoy copying adults?

Children naturally learn by observing the people they admire. Copying everyday routines—like brushing hair or applying lip care with a parent—helps them understand the world while building confidence and independence through shared experiences.

How can parents encourage creative expression?

Give children opportunities to imagine, create and explore without worrying about being perfect. Art, storytelling, dress-up, music and playful self-care rituals all encourage creativity while helping children develop confidence in who they are.

How can play become a positive learning experience?

Play is one of the most powerful ways children learn. Through games, imagination and everyday routines, children practise communication, independence, problem-solving and emotional skills while simply having fun. Learning through play makes new habits feel natural and enjoyable.

How do I introduce self-care without focusing on appearance?

Focus on how self-care helps children feel rather than how they look. Caring for lips, washing hands or brushing hair can be introduced as ways to stay comfortable, healthy and confident. This helps children see self-care as an act of wellbeing instead of something driven by appearance.

Is it okay for children to enjoy lip care?

Yes. Lip care can be a simple part of a healthy self-care routine when it is age-appropriate and focused on comfort rather than appearance. Choosing gentle products formulated for children aged 3 years and above helps make caring for delicate lips both safe and enjoyable.

Celebrate effort, curiosity and kindness rather than perfect results. When children feel supported as they learn new skills, they become more willing to try, explore and grow. Confidence develops through encouragement, not comparison.

How can families create meaningful everyday rituals together?

The most meaningful rituals are often the simplest. Reading together before bed, getting ready for school, caring for little lips on a chilly day or sharing quiet moments at the end of the day all help strengthen family connections while teaching children that self-care begins with love, consistency and time together.

How can I help my child feel confident without focusing on appearance?

Confidence grows when children feel loved for who they are, not how they look. Celebrate their curiosity, kindness, creativity and effort, and encourage self-care as a way of looking after themselves rather than changing themselves. At Minimuse, we believe the most meaningful confidence comes from feeling capable, cared for and free to be exactly who they are.

What's the difference between self-care and beauty?

Self-care is about caring for your body and wellbeing, while beauty focuses on appearance. For children, self-care can include washing hands, brushing teeth, caring for dry lips or brushing their hair. These simple habits teach responsibility and independence while helping children understand that caring for themselves is about health, comfort and confidence—not looking a certain way.

How can I raise a confident child in a world of social media?

Confidence begins at home. Encourage your child to value kindness, creativity, curiosity and resilience over likes or appearance. Create opportunities for real-world play, meaningful conversations and shared family routines. The strongest confidence grows from feeling accepted, supported and celebrated for who they are.

How do I teach my child that beauty isn't about perfection?

Children learn by watching the adults around them. Speak positively about yourself and others, avoid focusing on flaws, and celebrate qualities like kindness, courage, imagination and effort. Helping children understand that everyone is unique teaches them that confidence comes from embracing who they are—not striving for perfection.

Positive experiences help children develop habits they are more likely to carry with them as they grow.

Consistent routines help children feel safe because they know what to expect. Familiar daily rituals provide structure, reduce uncertainty and create opportunities for connection. Over time, these moments help children build confidence, resilience and a sense of security in their everyday lives.

Why do little moments matter in childhood?

Childhood is shaped by everyday moments more than grand occasions. A bedtime story, getting ready together in the morning or sharing a quiet conversation can become lasting memories. These simple rituals help children feel loved, supported and confident while strengthening family bonds.

How can I celebrate my child's individuality?

Every child has their own personality, interests and way of seeing the world. Encourage them to explore their creativity, make choices, ask questions and express themselves in healthy, age-appropriate ways. When children feel accepted for who they are, they develop the confidence to grow into their authentic selves.

How do I encourage confidence from the inside out?

True confidence grows through love, encouragement and everyday experiences that help children trust themselves. Celebrate effort, nurture curiosity and create opportunities for independence through simple routines. At Minimuse, we believe that caring for yourself is one small way children learn to believe in themselves, one little ritual at a time.

Why was Minimuse created?

Minimuse was created from a mother's desire to give children something that didn't exist—products that care for young skin while embracing the joy and creativity children naturally love. What does "Skincare First" mean?

"Skincare First" means every Minimuse product is developed to care for children's delicate skin before anything else. Rather than creating makeup for children, we create skincare-first essentials that nourish, moisturise and protect young skin, with subtle colour and playful textures simply making everyday self-care more enjoyable.

Why does Minimuse create skincare that mimics makeup?

Children are naturally curious and often enjoy exploring the colourful world of makeup through imaginative play. Minimuse celebrates that curiosity by creating skincare-first products that offer the playful experience of makeup while keeping gentle skincare at the heart of every formulation. Our goal is to encourage creativity and confidence—not early beauty routines.

Why are children's skincare needs different from adults'?

Children's skin is naturally more delicate than adult skin and deserves products created with their unique needs in mind. Gentle formulations, age-appropriate ingredients and everyday hydration help support healthy skin while respecting its developing protective barrier. That's why Minimuse creates products specifically for children aged 3 years and above.

Why doesn't Minimuse believe children need makeup?

At Minimuse, we don't believe childhood needs to be rushed. Children don't need makeup to feel confident—they need opportunities to explore, imagine and express themselves. That's why we create skincare-first products that deliver nourishment first, with a playful touch of colour designed to celebrate creativity rather than encourage grown-up beauty routines.

Why is healthy self-care more important than beauty?

Healthy self-care teaches children to care for themselves with kindness and confidence. Simple routines like moisturising their lips or washing their hands help build lifelong habits that are rooted in wellbeing rather than appearance. At Minimuse, we believe confidence grows from feeling cared for—not from looking a certain way.

Why should children use skincare before makeup?

Children's skincare should always come before makeup because healthy skin forms the foundation of good self-care. Gentle, age-appropriate skincare helps protect and nourish delicate young skin while encouraging positive daily habits. At Minimuse, every product begins with skincare, allowing children to enjoy playful self-expression without compromising the care their skin deserves.

Is makeup good for children?

Children don't need makeup as part of their daily routine. What they benefit from most is gentle skincare that protects and nourishes their delicate skin while allowing them to explore creativity through age-appropriate play. Minimuse was created to offer a skincare-first alternative that celebrates imagination without encouraging grown-up beauty standards.

What are safe alternatives to kids' makeup?

For families looking beyond traditional makeup, skincare-first products designed specifically for children offer a thoughtful alternative. Gentle lip care and other age-appropriate self-care essentials can encourage creativity and confidence while focusing on nourishing young skin. Minimuse was created with this balance in mind—care first, playful colour second.

What's the difference between children's skincare and children's makeup?

Children's skincare is designed to nourish, protect and support delicate young skin, while makeup is primarily intended to enhance appearance. At Minimuse, we bridge the gap by creating skincare-first products inspired by the joy of makeup. Every formula begins with gentle care, with subtle colour simply adding a playful, age-appropriate touch.

Why are children's skincare products different from adult products?

Children's skin is naturally more delicate and has different needs than adult skin. Products created for adults may not always be appropriate for younger skin. That's why Minimuse develops skincare specifically for children aged 3 years and above, using thoughtfully selected ingredients and formulations designed to support healthy everyday skincare habits.

How does Minimuse choose every ingredient?

Every ingredient is selected with purpose. We carefully consider its role, how it works with other ingredients and whether it contributes positively to the overall formulation. From nourishing plant-derived oils to skin-conditioning ingredients, every component is chosen to create gentle, effective products that children enjoy using and parents feel confident choosing.

Why does every ingredient have a purpose?

We believe every ingredient should earn its place in a formulation. Whether it's helping to moisturise, improve texture, support stability or create a smooth application, each ingredient contributes to the overall performance of the product. This thoughtful approach allows us to create simple, balanced formulations without unnecessary additions.

Why are simple, thoughtfully formulated products often better?

Gentle skincare doesn't need to be complicated. Thoughtfully formulated products focus on quality over quantity, selecting ingredients that work well together to deliver effective everyday care. At Minimuse, we believe that simple, balanced formulations are often the best way to care for children's delicate skin.

How does Minimuse balance nature with science?

Nature offers many wonderful ingredients, while cosmetic science helps us understand how to use them effectively and responsibly. Minimuse combines carefully selected natural and nourishing ingredients with scientific formulation expertise to create products that are gentle, stable and enjoyable for children to use every day.

Why is safety considered from the very beginning of formulation?

Safety isn't something that's added at the end—it's considered from the very first step of product development. Every formulation begins by asking what is appropriate for children's skin, followed by careful ingredient selection, balanced formulation and quality testing to help create products parents can feel confident using for children aged 3 years and above.

What does "thoughtfully formulated" really mean?

To us, "thoughtfully formulated" means every ingredient, every texture and every detail has been chosen with care and purpose. It means putting children's skin first, creating products that are gentle, age-appropriate and enjoyable to use, while balancing cosmetic science with the wonder, creativity and joy of childhood.
